Spring 2019 Player Evaluations

Player Evaluation Process

For the spring seasons, we have a player evaluation process we ask our players to go through to help the coaches in each division. The coaches use this evaluation process to help them in the drafting of players for their team for the season. This is NOT a try-out! Every player will be placed on a team. The draft process is to help in creating balanced and fair teams. If a player does not attend the player evaluation sessions, the player cannot be drafted to a team but instead will be randomly assigned to a team within the division after the draft is completed.

The exact date and location for our 2019 Player Evaluations are yet to be determined. However, we leaning towards the week of February 23, 2019. The evaluation will span two separate days and will consist of the following schedule:

  • Day 1
    • 9:30 am – 11:30 am – Machine Pitch and Minors Division Players (Baseball)
    • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Machine Pitch and above (Softball)
    • 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm – Majors and Above division players (Baseball)
  • Day 2
    • 6:00 pm – Move-up/Move-Down Evaluations
    • 6:00 pm – Baseball Eval (All Divisions)
    • 6:00 pm  -Softball Eval (All Divisions)

Players only need to attend one of the sessions, unless they are requesting to move-up or move down from their age assigned division. During the evaluation sessions, players will be asked to run, throw, catch, and bat. Players should bring their glove, bat, helmet, and be dressed appropriately

    TBall Divisions –

    • Players playing Tball will be placed on teams based on ages, coach referrals, and parental requests (not all requests can be accommodated)

Move-up or Moving Down a division

In rare occasions, a player can request to either move up or move down from their age assigned division. A player and parent can request to be evaluated for moving up or moving down a division. Parents need to complete a request form and have the player attend the Move-up/MoveDown Evaluation session as noted above.  The League’s Evaluation Board will evaluate the players and make a determination on the request. The Board’s focus is for the player to be in the appropriate division based on their skill level. The Board will also evaluate to determine if there are safety concerns for the player moving to the requested division, or if there are safety concerns for the other players in the division if that player was in that division.

Note: Players changing a division may be at a disadvantage and in some cases may forfeit eligibility for selection to an All-Star Team
